2nd Stargazers Night at Londonderry Township
On Saturday evening, June 15th, the Londonderry Township Historical Committee hosted
its second Stargazers Night. An estimated 60 adults and children gathered to listen
to a stars-of-the-heavens presentation by Kevin Witman. Mr. Witman began with a PowerPoint
presentation showing many of his own pictures taken through his telescope of our galaxy,
planets, and moon. The children in the audience displayed a knowledge and enthusiasm for
astronomy which was awesome. Everyone adjourned to the township parking lot where Mr. Witman
had two telescopes set up and everyone was treated to views of the moon, Saturn, Venus and
a wondrous view of M-13. The township thanks Mr. Witman for sharing his expertise of the
heavens and providing everyone with an experience to be remembered. Thank you Kevin.
